I want…

Mia Micheals (famed choreographer, currently judge of hit TV show, “So you think you can dance”) HAIR STYLE! I am going to see if I can get a still picture of her to take to the hair dresser. BEWARE! The next time you see me, I may be the coolest person in the room!

(disclaimer: Tiffany realizes she will never be the coolest person in the room, no matter what her hair looks like, this includes but is not limited to: cut, style and color(s).)

Oh, and by the way, Twitch is my FAVORITE DANCER OF ALL TIME! Let’s see how long that lasts.

Somebody, Please Please Please…

Posted on June 11, 2008

Turn me into “What Not to Wear” on TLC. I promise that I will be surprised when Stacy and Clinton show up to embarrass me. And I will pretend to be embarrassed as they watch the “secret” footage of how bad my ass looks in my jeans. I will be combative and fight for the clothes I am so desperately attached to in my closet. I will act shocked and surprised with the $5,000, pretend to be ashamed to spend that much money and time only on myself, and be astonished that it costs $400 for a sleek and sexy pair of strappy sandals. I will even cry when they suggest cutting my hair even shorter! All of these things and more, I promise! Whatever it takes to get that $5,000 and a free week in New York. Especially, if it means I get to sleep in!

And so it begins…

Posted on June 5, 2008

The top twenty was chosen for my summer tv obsession: “So You Think You Can Dance.” I enjoy American Idol, mostly because so many people watch it that I actually feel like I am part of a pop culture phenomena. But, SYTYCD is all about my adolescent passion, Dancing. I was a dancer for 12 years when I was younger, and I danced ballet, tap and jazz. I always loved dancing, but I knew in my heart that I was never going to be good enough to even consider doing it as a career. This became especially apparent after I had back surgery when I was 12 and had to take a year off. When I went back, the studio refused to let me even attempt to go up on point, and to get the good parts in the recitals you needed to be on point. So, my career ended before it even began (cue sad violin music.) But I danced for another 3 years anyway, because I just loved it so much. Because of this, I really feel like I have an appreciation for the dancers and the choreography on this show (except for ballroom, because lets face it, ballroom has entirely to many rules and I don’t know how you can keep track of them all.) In the end, I think the true appeal is envy, I would have loved to be able to do what these amazing athletes can do. There is my justification for taking yet another reality TV show seriously, and prepare yourself for updates.

ps. thank you everyone who commented or emailed me about the sleep deprivation post. Chloe has now slept until 6 for two days in row, things are beginning to look up!

And your next American Idol is…

Posted on May 21, 2008

And my myth TV stopped recording. We sat there through all of the other acts, the terrible vocals, the forced and bizarre commercial exploits, and didn’t get to see the end. I know David Cook won, but I feel like it was very anticlimactic. I just really hope they have the end on line tomorrow…next year I am watching the finale live!

What should happen…

Posted on May 20, 2008

After many discussions with my mom and my sister (both American Idol fans) we have decided that this is what should happen tonight on the finale: David Archuleta should win because he is still a young and innocent kid who needs some direction with his musical career. David Cook should come in second since he is already an excellent musician and performer and should have more control over his career (which, as runner up on American Idol, he is practically guaranteed a record contract.) So it has been said, and so it shall be done! Tonight…vote for David! (just kidding, had to throw that joke in there.)

Totally Rigged!

Posted on May 1, 2008

I am become more and more convinced that Jason Castro has rigged the competition. Not that Brook White didn’t deserve to go (she actually should have gone home last week when she forgot the words to the song) but there is NO WAY he should have been in the top 2! The boy is BORING! And I am with Paula, David Cook should just get the prize now. Save us the pain of having to listen to Jason another week. (Oh, and David Archuleta should get a contract for a Broadway show.)
