Getting old…

Posted on July 9, 2008

On Monday, we celebrated Sabrina’s 5th birthday party with a “Highschool Musical” Theme.  She is obsessed with this movie.  She also is obsessed with Hannah Montana and the Disney princesses.  I am SO not looking forward to this time with Chloe.  Right now, she throws her obssession around and they never last long.  And, I am pretty sure they are age appropriate.  I just don’t know about a 5 year old learning about life from singing and dancing teenagers.  (Uh hum…”Grease”)

Anyway…we all had a blast jumping on the trampoline and eating cupcakes out of ice cream cones.  (Oh, and there was a pinata shaped like a cheerleader bull horn and coloring on a castle.  I am sure these things are related to the High School Musical show, but I am too old and Chloe is to young, so I have never seen it.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SABRINA!

I now pronounce you…

Okay, so I am a few days late on the post, but better late than never, right?  Lance and Midori’s wedding was really beautiful.  Here’s the small world story on Lance and Midori.  Lance and I were friends in high school, Midori and Felicia (my sister) were friends in high school, but they didn’t know each other and Felicia and I cannot take credit for introducing them.  Instead, they met because Midori’s mom worked at Lance’s law firm. When I first met her, I was like, “Hey, I know you!”

The wedding was held in a gorgeous old Victorian house called the Lumber Baron Inn.  Apparently, it is also a bed and breakfast so the ceremony, reception and honeymoon suite were all in the same place, talk about convenient!  The ceremony itself was short and sweet, which was perfect because there were actually quite a few kids there.  It was great to see all our high school friends again, although I didn’t get to talk to them for very long because Chloe was having way too much fun touring the grounds and make “stone soup” in the fountain.  Here are a few of the pictures we took: (I know the pictures are formatted weird, I have to learn to adjust to my new wordpress theme.)

Those of you who used to live in Colorado know that they tore down stapleton when they buid DIA, and have spent that last 15 years building houses and shops, the shops are called “Northfield.”  Yesterday, we went there to see a steel drumb band with Felicia and Sabrina.  Chloe LOVED it.  She and Sabrina danced, ran, and played with baloons, until we were rained out.
