Chloe’s First Musical!

One of the best aspects of living in New Jersey is how easy it is for us to go to New York City. And, with that, our ability to access all of the culture that NYC has to offer. Now, would I consider 101 Dalmatians: The Musical a cultural experience? Probably not. But, it was Chloe’s first full length musical, and we saw it at the theater in Madison Square Gardens, so its was an excellent introduction. Chloe was squirmy during the performance, but she was better behaved than many of the kids around us. She really enjoyed it. Its always hard to tell at the time, because she is four (or almost four) and her patience level is that of a typical four year old. But she hasn’t stopped talking about it since, she wants to go see it again, and she has been watching the movie every day since we saw it. I think that’s a rave review in the eyes of a Preschooler!

My Hot Pink Princess…

Today we went to the Philadelphia zoo again with Ellen and her gang. I didn’t realize until we were leaving that everything Chloe was wearing was hot pink. Which looks even more electric next to her pasty white skin. Sigh…poor kid never had a chance.

Seth asked Chloe to marry him today…

(note: they both have the same taste in footwear.)

They both decided in order to get married, they needed to be dressed up…

but, when it was time for a nap…Seth decided the marriage was over. Chloe didn’t seem to mind.

In other news. Legolas and Arwen made a temporary truce, especially when it comes to stalking something they can never have…mainly the birds flying outside the window.

I know this is a short lived truce. I am just glad they found common ground.

Perhaps she had a dream?

This morning, Chloe came into my room and I asked her if she wanted to go potty.

She said, “No, but my friend the giant robot is going to come over today to play. And I call her Chloe, she’s a giant robot Chloe and she’s going to sleep with me in my room, she can have the top bed but maybe she’s too big, so we’ll have to make her a big huge bed and then use magic to put it in my room so she can sleep in my room with me. Is that a good idea?”

uhhhhh….sure Chloe, that’s a great idea.

Ballerina Girl

Chloe’s ballet studio had the girls try on their dance recital costumes, and yeah, I couldn’t help but take pictures. They are absolutely beautiful. You can’t really tell from the picture, but it actually looks like antique lace on the collar and the skirt. They will also have lace gloves and fairy wands, because they will be fairy princesses for their dance. I don’t think the teacher could have picked a better theme for Chloe’s first recital if she tried.

Mine vs hers

I know I know, I haven’t written in awhile. I just haven’t had the time. But, I thought it was really funny. On Sunday, John and I tried to take a picture of Chloe for this year’s Christmas card. I was disappointed in the results, I couldn’t get a good picture of Chloe to save my life. In half of them she kept her eye’s closed, in the other half she was making a goofy grin, and in all of them, she was washed out.

This was our best shot:

I was complaining about it to Ellen, and she asked if I wanted her to try with her fancy camera, I was like, “It couldn’t hurt.” Now, granted, half of them were fuzzy, she was turned completely around or she had her silly forced smile. But, BUT, we were able to get this one:

I am now thinking I may give in and let John buy an expensive fancy camera.

While trying to kill some time, before the trick or treating extravaganza, we decided to go to a local market for a hayride. Not only was there a hayride, there were also bunny rabbits…

School Halloween Party

Chloe’s First School Halloween Party:

This was not the first, second, third, fourth or fifth attempt at this picture. I left after Tinkerbell said she had to go potty. This is a good as its going to get!

According to Chloe, they had a hayride, an elephant ride, and they saw ponies. I was not allowed to stay, but they promised me they would post the picture on a password enabled website. I’ll see what I can do to post those once I see them.

Pumpkins!

On Thursday, we went to our local orchard with Ellen’s and Tracey’s kiddos.

Pumpkin ride, anyone?

Everyone else was looking for the biggest pumpkin, Chloe was looking for the smallest!

This is her face when I told her it was too small to turn into a jack-o-lantern.

The pumpkin she finally chose. She named it “Sally” and kept telling it, “This isn’t gonna hurt!”

“Yuck”

This is posed, she wouldn’t actually extract the pumpkin innards, they were too sticky.

I showed her the inside of my big pumpkin, she was aghast.
