Chloe has been walking very enthusiastically between John and I for a couple weeks now. Today, she stood up at Gymboree and walked across the mat. It was the first time she walked anywhere without a person to catch her! (That we’ve seen, anyway. Sometimes she’s sneaky about what she can do.) She did this several times without assistance. She also stood for several minutes (with a maraca in each hand, of course) completely unassisted. We’ve have decided to call her officially walking as of today! As soon as we can, we will capture it on camera and put it up on the website.

I can’t believe it has been a year already! Chloe turned one on May 3rd. We spent the day at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden and then had dinner at a seafood restaurant in Colt’s Neck. We had her birthday party on Saturday, May 5th at our house in Freehold. It was a huge success. We had a “princess” theme because we are always joking that Chloe is our pretty pink princess. She had a blast eating her first cake; although, she mostly just ate the frosting!
Chloe now weighs 18 pounds. She’s also quite the talker (she takes after her mommy!) Chloe says, “mommy,” “daddy,” “kitty,” “baby,” “hello,” “hi” and “bye bye.” She will also string some words together like “hi daddy,” and “hi kitty.” My mom and dad swear she said, “A cow says moo,” but I haven’t been able to get her to repeat it.
Chloe is still refusing to crawl, but she will walk holding only one hand and will walk between mommy and daddy unassisted. She just needs a little help with stopping! See the attached videos of her walking between mommy and daddy. There is also a video of her eating her first cake at her birthday party!
