Crawling?
Posted on March 10, 2007
This morning when I got Chloe from a nap, I walked in and she was lying on her stomach in her crib. She looked up at me, smiled, and then commando crawled from one side of the crib to the other and grabbed a pacifier that was lying in there. She held it up to me like, “look what I did, Mom!” I just couldn’t believe it! This whole time she has been REFUSING to have anything to do with her stomach and will cry and roll over when we put her on it, and here she is, VOLUNTARILY crawling across her crib. Now, granted, she doesn’t like to do it for very long. Later in the day we practiced and she would crawl toward mommy or towards daddy’s laptop, but then she was start to cry when she got to her goal. But, we have independent mobility! She may crawl after all! Here is a clip of her crawling…
Chloe has also made some additional dramatic developments in the last couple of weeks. She now plays peek-a-boo intentionally (She hides her eyes and then peeks out while I say, “peek-a-boo!”). She waves, “hi” opening and closing her hand. She is getting braver with her “cruising” and goes around corners as well as uses the wall to support herself. She consistently signs, “more,” when prompted, and she can feed herself bananas as well as dry goods such as crackers and toast.
Unfortunately, she has also decided she’s a picky eater. She doesn’t seem to like meat at all (that’s my girl!) and will eat something one day and then refuse it the next. We’re still working on that.
We will try to get some video of her doing the rest of these adorable things and post it within the next couple of weeks.
Yea Chloe!
Hey, wait a minute, John’s getting her started on computers kind of early, isn’t he?
